The Vision

We’re excited to share our vision for the future of 895 Lawrence Avenue East. This site presents an opportunity to introduce a mix of new residential and retail uses to a main avenue adjacent to public transit, and conveniently located near amenities and services.

We’re proposing two residential buildings (17 and 22 storeys), connected by a 6-storey mixed-use podium. The plans include over 15,000 square feet of retail, as well as a new gateway plaza at the corner of Lawrence Avenue and The Donway.

Guiding Principles

Visual Gateway

1.png

The proposed buildings are set back from The Donway and Lawrence Avenue intersection, creating a gateway plaza that will feature landscaping and street furniture for the community to enjoy.

Sensitive Design

The podium and tower elements are designed to promote an enjoyable pedestrian experience at-grade and create a visually interesting sightline to the plaza.

Streetscape Improvements

Lawrence Avenue will be activated with retail opportunities, and improvements to the intersection with crosswalks to be added at the intersection of The Donway and Marie Labatte Road to facilitate pedestrian connectivity, and improved safety.

Mixed-Use Community

The redevelopment aims to serve the vibrant community by introducing new residential uses and including a range of retail opportunities. Creating 438 new homes in a range of sizes will increase housing options for a variety of residents in the Don Mills area.

Current Site

The existing site is occupied by a two-storey commercial plaza and parking lot. It is located across the street from the Don Mills Branch of the Toronto Public Library and the Shops at Don Mills.
